Our Team

Noor Kamal

Engagement and Communications

Noor Kamal is a Master of Landscape Architecture student at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and Research Assistant for Depave Chicago since January 2025. Noor is contributing to Depave Chicago’s public engagement, social media, and communications. In that work, Noor is keeping the vibe high for everyone! Noor has a Bachelor of Studio Art from Kenyon College and in 2025 was named a Charles Fountain Scholar Award Finalist by the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture in recognition of her years of social and community engagement and promising impact for the field of landscape architecture.

Crispina Ken Jacobs

Research and Communications

Crispina Ken Jacobs is a Master of Landscape Architecture student at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and Research Assistant for Depave Chicago since September 2025. Crispina is contributing to Depave Chicago’s depaving literature review and research communications. Crispina has a Bachelor of Architecture from Mohamed Sathak A.J. Academy of Architecture in Chennai, India, and is currently undertaking a graduate thesis study on the integration of ecological function of landscape into architectural design.

Ian Dilla Mora

Design Research

Ian Dilla Mora is a Master of Landscape Architecture student at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and Research Assistant for Depave Chicago since January 2026. Ian is contributing to landscape architecture design research and publications through cross-case analysis of ground plane design operations and technologies. Ian has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Florida and is currently pursuing research interests in landscape and cultural preservation in Costa Rica’s tourism landscapes.

Selorm Afeke

Geospatial analysis & Teaching advisor

Selorm Afeke is a PhD Student in Landscape Architecture student at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign (UIUC) and Teaching Assistant for Professor McGuire since January 2026. Selorm is supporting students in geospatial analysis, design communication, and coordinating fieldwork related to their depaving studies and engagement with project partners. Selorm has a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, and a Master of Landscape Architecture from UIUC.
